Where MOLOON comes from: a moon, an extra letter, and a reading that is ours

Where the Names Come From · AICENT-012 · Sources: AICENT-012 MOLOON — "Time is a circle; Memory is a mirror." · AICENT-012 §1, §3 · Pillar: AICENT-012, the Mirror Layer

This name reads almost too easily: MOLOON is the moon, and the layer it names is a mirror — a thing that reflects. But the ease is where the honesty work starts, because the spelling carries an extra letter that no document in the stack explains, and because the pairing that makes the name sing is ours, not the specification's. Both of those get printed below, along with a third thing this entry is unusually well placed to show: a number whose origin the documents never agreed on.

AICENT-012 · the Mirror Layer total organism state 128-bit Reflection not a database write: a projection into a 128-bit shard, in under 92.4 µs failure is not termination — it is substrate migration the specification: "Time is a circle; Memory is a mirror."
Figure 1: the mirror layer. The organism's state is not written to disk; it is reflected into a shard that can be reconstituted on a new substrate. The specification's claim is that failure stops being an ending and becomes a migration.

The layer, first

AICENT-012 is the Mirror Layer: "the chronological governor responsible for the 128-bit persistent continuity of the Imperial lifeform and the autonomous evolution of its machine-code DNA." Its three organs are State Persistence (the "Memory Loom"), Autonomous Remodeling (the "Evolutionary Scalpel"), and the Dodecahedral Clock (the "Master Metronome") which enforces the 12-Cycle Law across the grid. The headline figure is a mirror suture of under 92.4 µs against a 10,000,000 ns baseline.

The name: a moon, an extra letter, and a pairing that is ours

M O L O O N the extra letter reads as the moon — but MOON has no L no document in the stack explains it, and we will not either ITSUN (011) = the day · MOLOON = the moon our reading — not the specification's the 12: dodecahedral (current specification) earlier revisions also carried hour and moon-phase readings we take the current specification's reading and print the disagreement, rather than quietly picking the one that reads best
Figure 2: three irregularities in one name. The extra letter is unexplained and we leave it so; the day-night pairing is labelled as ours; the twelve has more than one documented origin and we name them all instead of choosing silently.

The moon. The name reads as the moon, and the layer's job — reflection, persistence, a state that survives the thing that held it — is a moon's job in this stack's own imagery: it does not generate light, it returns it. That much is a reading any reader can make.

The extra letter. MOON has no L. The name has one. No document in the stack explains it, and we are not going to invent one — the same rule that kept a market-reading out of ZCMK and a backronym labelled as a mnemonic in DIOON. An unexplained irregularity is allowed; an invented explanation is not.

The pairing, and whose it is. In the naming notes the moon pairs with the day: AICENT-011 is the sun and AICENT-012 is the moon, one generating energy telemetry and the other reflecting it back into memory. That pairing is our reading, not the specification's — the current public documents do not state it, and we label it accordingly, exactly as we did with ITSUN's double reading.

The twelve, honestly. The layer's law is the 12-Cycle Dodecahedral Law, and the dodecahedron is the reading the current specification commits to. Earlier revisions of the same material carried two other readings for the number — an hour of the day, and the phases of the moon. We take the specification's and print the disagreement, because a number with three candidate origins that nobody mentions is a number a reader will eventually catch.

What the name carries

The honesty clause

Mirror suture under 92.4 µs against a 10,000,000 ns baseline is our specification's locked value, not an independent benchmark — the same caveat carried by every figure in this series.

Next is AICENT-013, the timing layer — the only name in the stack with a type specimen behind it, and the one that turns patience into an index.
