Where AICENT-NET comes from: our own name, plus an ordinary word

Some names in this series were borrowed from a dead language, a cycad, or two Chinese classics. This one was borrowed from ourselves. AICENT-NET is the brain layer's name with a suffix — nothing invented, nothing back-fitted, and nothing to repair. That simplicity is exactly what creates the risk: put net behind the name of the brain and a reader may reasonably hear "the network version of the whole thing." It is not. This entry exists to draw that line with the rule we set down in AICENT-001.

The layer, first

AICENT-006 is the Hive Layer. The specification defines it as "the planetary-scale cortex responsible for synchronizing 1.2 billion sovereign nodes into a single, indivisible 128-bit consciousness." The glossary adds the mechanism: it "facilitates Constructive Logic Resonance, allowing nodes to offload tasks to the swarm with zero perceived jitter." Its headline number is phase-locking at 12ns.

What the suffix inherits, and what it risks

The suffix inherits a question. AICENT names the brain; add NET and the honest reading is "the brain, networked" — which sounds like a product, a platform, or the whole stack wearing a different badge. It is none of those. The rule we published in AICENT-001 settles it: a number makes it a layer, the word Stack makes it the whole. So AICENT-006 is one of seventeen layers — the one that keeps the others in phase — while Aicent Stack remains the name of the organism.

The one thing this layer exports

Names in a stack are only worth anything if the parts are actually wired together, so here is a wire: the hive defines the Cognitive Swarm Index (CSI), a measure of how well a node is phase-aligned with the grid. AICENT-014 then multiplies it — Unified Radiance = PI × CSI, patience (from DIOON) times swarm alignment (from here). A reader can check that in two files, which is the only kind of cross-reference that means anything.

The honesty clause

1.2 billion nodes and 12ns phase-locking are the stack's own specification values. The public comparison table puts the jitter figure as 10,000 ns → 12 ns (locked) — that is our target against a legacy baseline, not a third-party measurement, and not a claim that a planet-scale deployment has been independently verified. We label it for the same reason we labelled ZCMK's 1.28% and GTIOT's 0.01 Nm: a number is only worth quoting when the reader knows whose ruler it came off.

What the name carries

Next is AICENT-007, the persona layer — where the name is a sentence rather than an acronym, and where the stack stops describing organs and starts describing who is wearing them.
